Its illegal to claim university status without accreditation, which is a long detailed precedd. Trump was warned by the NYDE in 2005 that it was illegal, but continued to use he term for 5 more years. Supreme Justice Kern found that he's personally liable for knowingly breaking that law. They were telling people they'd get a Trump University degree after completion.
