The Free Content Model
Before tubes started, most websites would give away vast amounts of photographs and vids for affiliates.
I have always stated this was a huge mistake, as I could never understand why someone would join a site if they had seen the content free already.
Yes, affiliates asked for it. But this was often to fill there free site with content in order to get hits. However the vast amount of hits to free sites will have resulted in sales. One wonders if sales would have been far more if the content had not been given away.
