lol, well certainly I am not arguing that point.
I've just seen first hand how a judge doesnt always throw the book at someone.
If it's the first time you're accused of a certain offense that doesnt seriously harm anyone and you are an otherwise upstanding citizen you have much better chance of getting some leniency.
I remember meeting some guys on the inside for who being in and out of jail was a way of life for them. They spent more time in the court system for various offences than not.
The sad part was they seemed like really nice guys when you got talking to them, just consistently bad judgment and nothing to hope for.
Never met guys like that before... I was like wtf.
