I don't think the problem is that there are 'so many sites offering browse for free', I think the bigger problem is just that there are just 'so many sites'
I can remember the good old days when I used to receive a very nice monthly check from One and Only - they have always done the 'browse for free' but the big difference is that back then they had virtually no competition.
I think another big difference is that the market has changed - certainly as far as my experience is concerned, people don't want the 'family friendly' personals type of site anymore, they want the kind of 'action sites' for want of a better term that they'll find with people like yourselves, AFF, Red Personals, I WantU and the Pussycash sites
