Unfortunately I have not seen much lately that is worth fighting for. Only some cheap "words" of some politicans who have never been involved in *any* war.

Those that are in the Canadian & US armed forces currently are there out of choice. That's what they do, it is their job. When the Government directs the military to go somewhere and fight, they do it. Period. In situations like Iraq and Afghanistan there was no draft, there was no "Call to arms" from the nation's leader asking the population to sign up and fight.
Part of the original question above was "Would you fight for your country" which says to me "if some foreign enemy was threatening my country, would I be willing to defend it? Would I be willing to fight to preserve my way of life and that of my family and friends??"....... To answer "no" to that is absolutely disgusting.
