Go find an 'average man' and then we can do a comparison. Until then 'average' will remain a largely irrelevant term. To be a genius you have to be a genius compared to any man... not the fictitious average man.

Geniuses: Steve Jobs, Elon Musk, Einstein, Edison, Rockefeller, Ford, Carl Sagan, Bill Burr, Ansel Adams, Douglas Adams, Vince Gilligan, Socrates, Prince, Aristotle, Confucius, Mark Cuban, there are plenty out there... and each is a genius in their own way.

Not because they were better than 'average' whatever that means...
