I prefer to get 5 more pageviews on my sites with possible bookmarks & clicks to join pages rather than 5 pageviews to one sponsor tour. This helps to keep the control of the traffic in my hands instead of a sponsor's hands. ![](images/smilies/2twocents.gif) Over time I think that helps me end up with more traffic/pageviews which results in higher revenue overall.
Here is a thread I made about pre-selling in 2005: https://gfy.com/fucking-around-and-pr...-pre-sell.html

That's a good thread and one thing is that the guys I know that do well ratio wise (and usually keep quiet about it) do their own promos, own text, own pre-selling.
It's not as much as to spike an interest, make somebody curious to check out more, show him the right pictures, give him the information you need him to know in the right order, that makes all the difference in the world.
The tours I designed had no sopfisticated pro design on them at all, it was basically just hand picked pictures and text, and a certain structure and order. Still was able to do 1:150 - 1:200 from SE traffic and average 1:600 from porn (affiliate) traffic.
Of course what helped was that it was a unique product, but I'm sure even with something more generic one can do a much better job than to just throw traffic at the pre-made tools or generic tours that are rarely properly tested.
