I was just hoping he could help me with a simple web site.
Half of it is buzzwords. Mostly, it boils down to having a thorough knowledge of analytics and having some idea of what the latest iteration of google is looking for. Seeing where people hit your site and where from, and where they leave. Which streams convert.

Code optimization and social media management should probably be passed on to other people, imo.

Personally I liked it better when all I had to do was submit a site to yahoo, wait two days then figure out what to do with my new 10k daily uniques.
