Google Fibre

I was one of the 1st Google Neighborhoods. I should have signed up then, as Time Warner goes up 20% a year.
I signed up and this past Sunday, yes, Sunday I got modem installation. Hell, TWC you can't even pay your bill on Saturday. I went with the cheap plan, pay $25 a month for 12 months then get free for 7 years of 5MB.

We have 2 tablets, 2 Mac laptops, 1 pc tower and my Mini. Everything is working great, except the Mini. I spent 1 1/2 hours+ with a guy from Google. We even chatted about the weather while my system rebooted several times. BUt no luck. Not sure if it's a Mac problem or not. Currently I'm on my Mac Air, but it seems to be running slower since Google. I didn't want to go to the 1000MB plan with TV, but seeing how I'd have to get 3 Netflix, Hulu, Prime and another just to get the 70 channels I had with TWC, I might as well do it. And the crappy part is from 3 am to 8 am almost very channel is an infomercial. Can't even get a Law & Order I've seen 5 times.

I did think my Mini had a problem as I usually have 300 tabs open between Firefox, Chrome & Safari and a dozen life sucking Excel spreadsheets. One allows me to preload Tweets every 10 minutes until 2021.

But I closed everything and rebooted. Still no luck. Google seems to be great, but if you sign up, make sure you have a 2nd computer running that tests out or runs your old cable provider, until everything is perfect.
