We have an army, air force and navy which will defend us in the case of invasion.
However invading Australia using conventional means is not trivial, an invasion from the north of the country would be suicide for any forces attempting it. There's thousands of miles of inhospitable country between the north and our major population centres.
Even during World War II the best the Japanese could do was to bomb Darwin, which has just a couple of percent of our population.
