Somthing dawned on me last night....

I was laying in bed, thinking about the Acacia deal and a few things came to mind.

a) So many ppl are saying they are using the porn industry as a stepping stone to get to MSN, CBS, NFL, ABC, NBC, etc, etc. But nothing says they will go after them. They don't have to go after anybody they don't want too. Think about it, this industry makes about what, $4 billion a year. Take that times the 1-2% they are asking and you get a nice little number of $40-80 million. Nice chunck of money. Why would they want to mess that up by going after anybody other than a group of people that nobody likes and that can pay out big time. They go after the big boys, they lose in court for sure and then all that easy money from the "scum of the Internet" is gone.

b) Acacia is say that even if you link to a site that offers videos (i.e. sponsor site) you owe them the fees too. So they are basically double dipping. They are trying for 2% of the sponsors money, then an additional 2$ of the money that the affiliates make off of those sponsors. So make that $40-80 more like $60-100 million. Again, why go after companys that can squash them?

c) Why is it in every article I have read about Acacia and the deals they have made, they are get 3/4% of the profits yet for the adult industry, they are requesting up to 2%. Just doesn't seem right or that something like that would hold up in court.
