I saw him play twice in real. Once in 1966 and then in 1972 I think, plus numourous times on the TV.

He was head and shoulders above Maradona and better than Cruyff. Neither were as good as George Best, if he had played for England he would of been in that list. He would have been second, he destroyed defenders.

Beckenbauer was good and solid and very good at the back and going forward. But not in the same league as Pele, Best and Cruyff.

None of the modern players come anywhere near them because it's now too organised and disciplined for the individual to shine as much, defenses are more organised as well.
