i would suggest soyoustart which is part of ovh. I can setup a server and transfer data to new host. I have done both, i just gave up a unmanaged for one project and now am on managed. I picked managed this time since i have a full time job and can not really deal with a site down in the middle of work. When i first setup the site i used the hosting company maybe 5 times for a total of 1 hour. They do monitor, patch, optimize the server and database on a regular basis.
