As someone that fixed hundreds of them this is just your vibrator motor. It's simply a motor that drives a imbalanced cylinder, that way when it spins fast it vibrates.
Shaking the phone or at least hard will cause this to happen. Not saying it is absolutely, but most likely. There's a little slack in it.
Despite the precision and the design being the same for every iPhone, every phone had a different personality and who knows what it's been through.
