actually no, its never 'that simple'. 9 times out of 10 there is one person who is into it way more than the other. either the wife goes along with it because her husband wants to do it or he goes along with it because she wants to do it. its very rare that its 100% mutual and even if it starts out that way, often doesn't end up that way.
