IBM, Atari, Comodore and others all donated to schools too. In the 90's, a company I worked for donated 100 brand new IBM compatible computers to schools in Quebec. It was nothing to do with getting kicks hooked on our computers. It was about tax incentives and about doing something good at the same time.
