I just don't buy it. My theory? The Nazi "ideals" have slowly infiltrated themselves into the US military and political system. All this control, spying, fear and rhetoric feels like it's right out of the Nazi playbook.

one part of Germanys success after 1945 was integrating all the teachers, judges etc and also lots of former military back into society - the allies rightfully knew that for a functioning society, you need people who know how to run it.
