Point was not the internet, point was that nowadays (due to the abundance of information mostly) people know much more, they are just "smarter" in the sense that it was like dark ages even 50 years ago.
Take any 14 year old kid from 1950 and 2015 and you understand what I mean (I hope, since you expose yourself as not capable of thinking).

Back in the days magic was magic (had more respect and was something wow) and nowadays people just look at it as a trick that they need to crack. It is all due to the information times we live in, not due to people being dumber as you dumbly suggested in OP.
