And back in the times when it was that high...the IRS was a small agency and of course there wasn't any real technology for them to use to keep up with everything.

I can guarantee you that John Rockefeller never paid 80% and he was the richest man in the U.S. in the early 1900's.

The richest man later in history was Howard Hughes. Again, he NEVER paid 80% of his money to the govt.

Think about it crockett. If you paid 80% of your money to the govt., you wouldn't even have any capital to operate the next year and generate more revenue.

I heard an interesting quote that makes sense:
If you want more of something, tax it less. If you want less of something, tax it more.
