I kind of see where the OP is going.
I think there is a TON of gonzo out there that isn't as sexy (IMOO) as classy porn with a bit of background story and costumes / decorum.
It's a bit of a stretch to say it vanished, I can name quite a few companies that keep creating this kind of content (Dorcel, DigitalPlayground,...)
Also, one should keep in mind that most of us on this forum are over exposed to porn, so it can get a bit old.
I still find new porn that arouses me though
