It's amazing walking around the city and not being able to use the towers to gauge where you are..
I'm still not used to it.

Dr. Guille I would suggest waiting for Nina Marichino to post here. She should be an expert on the Italian restaurants in Little Italy.

I'm not a big fan of Italian but there's always Cafe Habana on Elizabeth & Prince for the best Cuban food north of Miami. The grilled corn is a life changing experience! There's always hot women inside especially after Lenny Kravitz shot his video there it turned into a model-hive. It's in the same area as all the Italian restaurants and great shopping.

There's also some Great Thai at a restaurant called Thaland. Best prices on Thai food in the city. It's not takeout by any means. Grab a comfortable seat and be prepared to stuff yourself with 4 courses for under $20

We have the best Indian food in America. My favorite is The Curry Mahal on Second ave between 4th and 5th in the village. I eat there so much they know me by name. "Pornwolf is here! Chicken Tikka Masala coming up fast fast for you!" Ask for Pappa-dum. That's not the head waiter's real name but that's what I call him. He'll know I told you to go there. ;)

If you are gonna have lunch but you don't wanna be inside away from the beautiful sights (and there's plenty of those walking the streets) go to Republic in Union Square. Decently priced and very good noodles in a cool setting. If noodls don't move you there's always the Coffee Shop one block down. It's open 23 hours just so ya know.

If you are looking for Sushi there's two great decently priced choices. Tomoe on Thompson Street is the best in my opinion but make a reservation. Not because it's chic like Nobu but because it's so good people are usually stnding in line to get in on weekends!

Chinese can best be experienced at a restaurant in Chinatown called Canton. If you don't pay attention you will pass it because there's no sign on the front.

When it comes to prices you shouldn't worry too much. New York is an expensive city but not during lunch time. Feel free to walk into any restaurant that looks interesting because they will always have a good lunch special that's usually 40% less than the normal prices.

When you are ready to start your night head over to West Broadway. It's a 4 blocks stretch of streets just a few blocks away from the Italian restaurants. There's tons of bars and restaurants that are situated in a way that you feel like you are in a social setting moreso than in a restaurant. Go to Barolo over there for desert (only desert because dinner sucks ass). It has a REALLY nice garden with beautiful creatures all around. The best looking women in NY hang out on that strip but there's very few tourists so you should have a great time playing the 'Hi, I'm not from here' routine.

Don't forget you can always go to the hotels for the best bars.
The Hudson, The Soho Grand, The Tribeca Grand, The W (union square, 39th st and Times square) and The Time are always a good choice after 7pm.
