An update on Donnie's buddy Lewis McElfresh was posted last night.
I understand the wheels of justice turn very, very slowly, but this is going to take years....

An April 19 trial date was set Monday for a former Sutter County Sheriff's Department captain.
Lewis McElfresh has pleaded not guilty in Sutter County Superior Court to charges of sex crimes that involved his minor relative, and a charge that he provided a felon with a firearm.
Visiting Judge James Garbolino is assigned to preside over the 12- to 15-day trial. McElfresh is due back in court for a pre-trial hearing Dec. 10.
The Sutter County District Attorney's Office is prosecuting the case that the Yuba City Police Department investigated.
McElfresh was arrested last December about two weeks after Donny Pauling was arrested for sex crimes against Pauling's relative, a minor.
Police said they were provided with a recorded conversation in which McElfresh is allegedly confronted with and admits allegations he participated in unlawful sex acts.
He is accused of masturbating while watching Pauling have sex with a minor girl.
Pauling pleaded no contest last month to a charge related to that crime: A felony for arranging a meeting with a minor for the purpose of performing lewd and lascivious acts. As part of the plea, he said he and McElfresh arranged the meeting, then performed the acts.
Pauling is scheduled to be sentenced Thursday.
McElfresh was booked into the jail he previously oversaw, but was housed in Yolo County Jail for his protection.
He posted bail and was released from custody in September, after a judge ordered a 98 percent reduction of a bail amount previously set at $5 million.
