the attacks you mentioned are completely impractical, air attacks would stop as soon as the few air bases nearby get taken out... transporting tanks/troops over those 4km is pretty impractical too... it seems like it would be pretty much impossible to attack US through there...
as for taking out aircraft carriers, "easily" is a bit of a stretch, it's not like you press a button, missile is launched and 2 minutes later carrier is sunk... modern ships have numerous counter-measures, so hitting one is not as easy as one would think... plus multiple hits are likely needed to sink it... they would get sunk eventually, but I wouldn't call it "easily"...
but yea, all this is meaningless, nukes would probably be used sooner than later, so that's why both sides are doing their best to avoid any conflict...
