That article few posts above clearly stated "conventional battlefield"... so nukes are off the table... besides they are off the table anyway, the moment anyone even suspects nuke is launched gloves come off and 1000s of nukes start flying completely fucking up both countries...
so given "conventional battlefield" warfare... Russia has no means at all of even attacking the US, how exactly would they even do it? the best they can do is send a few subs near the US, and maybe send a couple of cruise missiles and given no nukes are involved causing practically no damage...
on the other hand US can park aircraft carrier battle groups all around Russia and pound with 100s of missiles, aircraft, etc... US would end up losing those aircraft carriers but not without causing pretty decent damage to Russian military...
