A year and some months later and nobody has typo-policed this yet.
The word you wanted was "their" as in "They were using their Ipad."
The word you used was "there" as in "Where is the Ipad? There is the Ipad.”
You also could have included a third version, the conjunction "They're", as in "They're using their Ipad over there.”
Please note that the word “their” is one of the many words that ignores the standard rule of “I before e except after c”.
