You had 6 shuttles, and 33% (thirty three fuckin' percents!) of them have exploded and killed their whole crews (in contrast to Russian rockets, your ones have no catapulting systems to save the crew in a critical situation). Personally I do understand why the US astronauts prefer to use Russian technologies over the American ones. They just want to get home alive and that's an absolutely normal thing. A 3rd-world technology has never been safe. Yes, you have Twitter, Google and Facebook, but you can't send a human into the outer space in 21st century (Wernher von Braun and his Nazi crew are dead by now).
