1. it was russia till Hrushev gave it away to ukraine republic (part of ussr) in 1956 because ukraine had road to crimea.
2. no one did steal it. People of crimia voted for going apart and joining russia. if russia refused to get them we would get one more war zone. Crimean people ran away from ukraine not because they wanted to be in russia so much but because they didn't want to live with new Ukraine government. Look at ukraine now - government officially supports nazist gangs.
