I have found that regarding workouts, more is not always better. The best is to keep a good balance between aerobic excersice and weight tarining.
For me what works best, is only 3 hours per week, divided in 30-45 minute sessions every day.
Heres is my routine more or less:
Day 1 Weights, upper body. biceps, triceps, shoulders, chest and back,30 min.
Day 2 Aerobic excercise, staitonary bycicle, 30 minutes.
Day 3 Weights lower body, legs, calves, hams and Abs, 45 min
Day 4 REST
Day 5 Weights, upper Body
Day 6 Aerobic excercise, running 30 minutes.
Day 7 Weights, lower body and Abs.
Do 8 sets per body part, increase the weight after each set, try not to rest more than 90 seconds between sets.
For Aerobic excersice, keep your heart rate at about 60-80% of your maximum.
I lost 15 pounds in 3 months and gained about another 10 in lean muscle mass with these program.
