trailers are all about hitting the sweet spot, get viewer hyped about the content and not show to much.
It also depends on what kind of trailer are we talking about. I like my single scene trailers to be 40-60sec, which is a nice window to keep the viewer interested from start to the end.
Solo girl site owners like 2+ min trailers which then need to be thematically split into few parts. Usually differentiated by different music and the editing pace.

The tube clips I wouldn't call trailers at all because they are edited differently.

If you are worried about file size, experiment with smaller dimensions and lower bitrates. Sometimes you an reduce the file size a lot and still have a nice video quality.
