Face it, it is a win win for the investor, his lil four million is chump change when it comes to a primetime show on a major network. Yet they make people gasp at the figure like it really is at risk.
These marketing guru's nailed it for an easy hit that could also make one a pretty huge return on his petty investment on a restaurant.

Totally accurate interpretation, I was thinking all these things while watching, obviously there will be a huge return even if the show gets cancelled early, which it won't because of great production, hype and the thong shots like you mentioned. I know, I will watch it again, but then I have industry interest like I said. I love cooking
and would love to open my own restaurant some day.
