Pets are *not* comparable to flies, cockroaches, or cows bred for slaughter.
They have been domesticated and ARE part of the family. They're not treated as part of the family, they ARE part of the family.
My cat is like another child to me, he just happens to be furry and talk funny.
Who would I save first? My child, of course.
Would I run back into a burning building to save my cat? Hell YES.
And when that "assailant" finds this fucker coming out of a bar, I hope he throws in a punch or two for me.
BTW, I would *not* have called the roommate. Most likely, the roommate is the one who put the cat in the trash to begin with. If the roommate is allowing this sort of thing to happen to the cat and is going to allow that fucker to step foot back into that apartment, then he needs to be strung up right beside the guy who did the original deed.
Would've been better to take the cat to the emergency clinic yourself.
