Do you sweat? run a temperature? have bouts of nausea? have muscle and joint pains similar to a really bad flu? Can you you die from the withdrawals if not treated by a doctor?
If the answers are generally yes to these then its an addiction, if the answers are no then its a compulsion/obsession.
It is important to differentiate correctly because the correct treatment protocols are NOT the same.

You are describing a physical addiction (drugs, alcohol mostly) anything can be addictive according to the DSM4. I know someone who had a real origami problem...
