I've never understood people who fly the flags of countries they've left behind. I understand you might be, for example, Puerto Rican, but.... Outside of your house you fly the flag of a country you left while not flying the flag of the country that has become your home.
Would I stay and fight for my country? It depends on the country. If you live in some shit hole country that has nothing to offer and limited potential, most likely not. You can spend the next twenty or thirty years of your life fighting to survive, and at the end of the day you will have never have known what it feels like to own a brand new car.
People see how other people live in other countries and they say "I want that".
