An example .... Let's take the war in Jugoslavia:
This was in 1996. In Denmark we took more than 20.000 bosnian refugees - are they are problem today? No. Did they go back? Not all. Are they a part of society those that stayed behind? Yep.
(Some) people in this country are freaking out because 2.000 people arrived. So what? we can fit them in.
The real problem with Syria (IMHO) is that no western country wants to put troops on the ground - and you cannot win anything w.o. troops on the ground.
So until we do that, my EU brothers and sisters, prepare to get more refugees LOTS and LOTS more of them.

How about instead of fitting them in, they stay where they are from and make that work like they did in your country.
