I just lost exactly 15 pounds in two months and did it the same way. If you can spread your calories out in 4 or 5 smaller meals that really helps too. Eat a small breakfast. When you first wake up in the morning, your body hasn't had any food in 12 hours or so and it starts to store fat.
Try to lift weights and make sure you keep getting stronger. You'll lose muscle mass too if you're not careful.
