NEW YORK - R&B star Ciara has taken aim at her rapper ex for going public with his feelings about her new man, Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson, spending time with their son.
Last month, Future slammed Wilson after photos emerged of him pushing Future's son, Future Zahir Wilburn, in a stroller during a day out with Ciara.
During an appearance on New York radio station Power 105.1, the rapper was asked to comment on his former lover's new romance hours after Ciara hit the red carpet at the ESPYS sports awards in Los Angeles with Wilson - and he took issue with photos of the athlete with his kid.
He said, "I wouldn't want anyone to push my son (in a stroller). That?s like the No. 1 rule. If I was a kid, and my mom had a dude pushing me, I would've jumped out the stroller and slapped the (expletive) out of him ...
"You never do that in our community. You don't even bring a man around your son. You only know this dude for a few months, and you?re bringing him around your kid? Who does that? Nobody does that."
Ciara, who previously blasted her ex for being "dishonest" after he dismissed reports suggesting infidelity led to their split last year, hit TV breakfast show "This Morning" on Thursday and said, "Wouldn?t you want someone to love on your child, or love on the child that you?re speaking about?" when asked to comment on the drama.
She also lashed out at critics who approve of Future's remarks and believe it's too soon in her relationship with Wilson to introduce a new man to her son.
She added, "People are going to talk about me. I was built for this, this is what I?m supposed to be doing. But when it comes to your child, it?s something I don?t take lightly. At the end of the day, my son will be the one that?s affected the most out of this. I think people have to think about that versus just shouting out things.
"To speak on such a sensitive and real situation when you don?t have all the facts, that to me is the frustrating part of it all because again, us adults will be fine, but my son has to grow up one day and he has to see."
