Carter might not have done well as a president but I've always thought he cared about this country and the people. At least that's my reflection of his actions today. I was too young to really know much personally of his actions in the office other than what is written in th history books.
With that said, he did hit on something which is widely ignored but actually affects people lives day to day. The president's actions in reality rarely effect your day to day lives.
Yet corruption at the state level and the bribes state and local govts get are what you feel day to day.. Obama nor George Bush caused my electric bill to almost double in the last 8 year, but Rick Scot sure as fuck did when he approves rate hikes for his largest campaign contributor being Duke Energy..
