I don't understand the details of the deal, but Congress is 100% anti-Obama, and John Boener is the worst speaker of the house in the history of speakerseseses of the houseseses. The way I look at it we have two options.....
1) Sign the agreement which prevents them from building nuclear weapons.
2) Allow them to build nuclear weapons and eventually go to war with them.
As much as I get a stiffy when the United States flexes it's military might, it's best to avoid war if possible.
Just like with Obamacare, the Republican party is going to scream bloody murder and fight this tooth and nail without offering any other options. Great, let's do it their way. Let's not sign the treaty and allow them to build nuclear weapons. Then we can see how well that works out.
Again, this is very simple - It's the "carrot or the stick". We want them to take the carrot and everyone is happy. The only other option is the stick, which will require billions of dollars and potentially tens of thousands of American lives.
