So I'm listening to the radio and watching TV this morning and i'm thinking - is this 1953? Kobe Bryant admits to ADULTERY! Kobe Bryant is an ADULTERER! Who the hell uses this language - it's 2003. Have you ever described a friend who was cheating on his/her wife/husband that way - "Oh yes, didn't you know, Larry is screwing around behind Sue's back, I knew that cad Larry was an adulterer. And a philanderer too!" Cad, philanderer, adulterer, Jezebel, hussy - words used before anybody on this board was alive.

'Wanton' is another word in the same vein. In the 40's and 50's, you'd see women referred to as a 'wanton woman' - meaning she was a slut or a whore. Divorce cases were decided often on the basis of a woman's wantoness or lack of virtue.
