However, many illegal aliens in the US crossed the border 100% legally (using a student visa, tourist visa, etc) and simply stayed beyond the expiration date on their visa. That is not a crime whatsoever. That is a civil offense. So those types of illegal aliens have not commited any crime by simply being an illegal alien.
