Pacoima is not really "hood. It's in the San Fernando Valley. Safe to drive through there day or night. They just claim 'hood status to up their cred. East St Louis, East Oakland...those are 'hoods. I don't think there even exists any real notorious hoods in LA anymore. You can see tourists freely walking around taking pics at Watts Towers these days.
