E-cigs are just changing the delivery system for nicotine.
Nicotine is the highly addictive (some studies show more so than heroin) and is the reason people continue to smoke long after they stop enjoying it and the negatives outweigh the positives.
Switching to this alternative delivery system is no different than using nicotine patches. Just a different delivery system.
Would you expect to use a nicotine patch for the rest of your life? No - most people would consider that stupid.
Cold turkey is the proven most effective way of actually stopping nicotine addition/smoking.
If I can do it then anyone can do it! Good luck to all those trying!
