People often can't see what is right in front of their face, when they finally do, they deny what they are seeing. All she needed was to be forceful, manipulative and lie and she was able to climb right to the top as a black woman and speak for blacks as a black woman in spite of being so obviously white and she didn't do it as a person faking a medical degree and manipulating her way into a job at a hospital behind closed doors, she did it in the most public way possible as a teacher and as a spokesperson. That is a very special degree of "fucked up".
To those that say "she lied and people lie"... uhm... no. She created an entirely new identity. She dissociated herself from her parents, her life, her family, her relatives and even who she is as a person... and then created an entirely new identity that was at the opposite spectrum from who she was. Thats not "a lie"
She lived this fake life as if it was real, knowing it wasn't. She lied daily... to friends, to family, to students,.. to everyone as part of a ruse that required constant deception.
Making it even weirder, she sought out the ultimate position of power for someone living this lie. She sought out the spotlight - a spotlight which emphasizes and is centered on her fake personality. Ultimately worked her way up in her career to speaking for blacks AS a black woman. That is not a "lie". That is an obvious sign of severe mental illness. That is taking this "lie" to the furthest extent it could possibly be taken. Its almost certain that she reveled in the fact that she was deceiving and fooling people on such a grand scale. Like sociopaths (Like Donny Pauling), she thinks everyone is dumber than she is. She thinks she can always get what she wants. She thinks she deserves it. She thinks she deserves it even at the expense of others and when she gets caught it wont of course be her fault, according to her.
Normal people can't "lie" day in and day out for years. Normal people don't dissociate themselves from their lives, their family and their identity and then fabricate an entirely new existence and past. Sociopaths have no conscience based emotions. They don't feel regret. They don't feel shame. They don't feel remorse. They don't feel embarrassment. They don't feel "wrong" about the constant lying. Normal people do...thats why they cannot do it for very long, if at all without cracking.
She's a sick person that needs help.
