It very much depends of the situation where i am standing at. Sometime it turns out to be better if you just stand aside and listen to what someone is saying to you. But i am usually going my own way no matter the costs. It turns out few times that it was better that i have listened. But most of the times for me it was better when i stood out and went my own way.
