In 2001, they made an exception for any big business that uses more than 1 megawatt to be able to generate their own electricity.
Wynn Resorts has just filed for that so that they can run their resorts off of solar power.
NV Energy (owned by Warren Buffet) is screaming bloody murder and trying to stop that from happening! In other words, they are scared to death of losing all that money that is made from selling electricity.
The article further says that the state put a cap of 3% of residents who are allowed to have their own power generated by solar energy!
That is just total corruption and graft. Especially here in NV where we have so much sun every day that it makes perfect sense for everyone to be able to create their own energy.
That is what we get with govt. that has this kind of power over people...bureaucrats running our lives to make sure their cronies stay multi-billionaires. It's a disgrace.

They did the same in FL. If you try to remove your house from the power grid they will take away your certificate of occupancy. Meaning you can't legally live in a house which isn't hooked to the power grid regardless if you have electricity or not. This is thanks to Rick Scott and his beloved campaign financier Duke Energy..
I know you hate me saying this, but you don't see that shit happening in states which aren't Republican controlled. I've never said Democrats are perfect but by far they don't pull this kind of shit that harms individual tax payers like the right does at the state level.
This is why I'm so anti right wing, not because I hate Republicans in general, but because I see what they do with my own two eyes. Yes I'm sure corrupt democrats can fuck up cities like Detroit, but those are usually isolated at city level and not entire states. Republican governors around this country are fucking destroying this country at the state level.
