One of the article I read said that if you do a comparison based on miles driven, then people over 70 have a far higher accident rate than younger drivers.

They have less actual accidents, but they drive less miles. I don't have the stats, and maybe it's bullshit, but one of the articles said that is the case. I don't know if it's true.
