I am pretty sure i've read that heat can mess with the proteins properties but I read that so long back I would look into it to find out for sure.

Running only helps cardio conditioning. If you want to burn more fat bottom out your sugars intake, works like magic.. I've gone from flab to abs in a matter of 2-3 months with that alone, resistance training speeds that up obviously though.
