Facebook will have a peer2peer payment system soon (if it's not "adult content").
You would need a point of return should Facebook or Twitter close (unlikely) more likely some content matter or payment dispute. By point of return I mean a real domain -- that would be preferrable to
[email protected].
You don't want to build a community on some free platform that may disappear.
You can take advantage of the existing silo of users (see:
silo - IndieWebCamp ) and other traffic (maybe search someday) by using Facebook or Twitter. Their platforms are made to be usable by non-webmasters.
