Top Gear is one of the most successful TV shows globally, they would do well to put this behind them and get all sorted out asap before another network throws a contract at him and makes their own TV show. I agree, although not sure how easy it would be for him to compete with them. I'm sure that there are some iron clad contracts in place to prevent competition.
It always feels like Richard Hammond and James May are there solely to keep Jeremy reined in. But the best parts always come when they lose control of him and the real Jeremy gets out of his cage. I can't see the show getting the same draw without him.
