Little known fact:
Canadian actor Lorne Green (Ben Cartwright on
Bonanza) was also known as 'The Voice of Doom' - as the announcer on the CBC National News. His job was to deliver distressing war news following Canada's entry into World War II in 1939.
Green died of pneumonia in 1987.
But his spirit still lives on.
